How do you write money into existence?

Well, it’s NOT easy. Lots of moving parts. But it IS a learnable skill. Or more accurately; a whole big bunch of learnable skills. It’s like a puzzle.

The good news? You can piece this puzzle together!

(It’s also way easier than passing the bar test, or selling your kidneys!)

The bad news? Everybody makes the same fundamental mistake (and it’s really hard to unlearn it).

But by the end of this article, you’ll easily avoid it and be well on your way to writing money into existence. It starts with a psychological trick:

The Quick ‘Psych’ Hack

“Great copy makes the reader WANT to read it.”

—Daniel Throssell (Australia’s Best Copywriter)

Forget the word ‘copy’ for a moment. This applies to all writing. The main difference between mediocre writing and GREAT writing?:

Assuming people will read what you write...

Because people don’t naturally want to read your s***, or my s***. Heck! Few even want to read Charles Dickens’ s*** these days.

In other words: it starts with a mindset!

So don’t take it personally. We’re in this together. The point is:

Making Someone WANT To Read Is Difficult!

Most writing is absolutely awful. It’s boring. Stilted. Rambling. Sleep inducing.

Why? There are plenty of reasons:

  • Writer’s block is real.

  • School taught us to write like robots.

  • Actual robots write a lot of content now.

Most people aren't even aware of the tricks that breathe life into writing!

But let's not get hung up on our “why”. What matters is “how”:

One Simple Writing Trick

If nothing else, remember this: Every piece of writing must LOOK inviting. Assume your reader is looking for EVERY reason NOT to read your s***.

That means you must make it easy on the eye. Break it up a bit. Use quotations. Combine short paragraphs
 With slightly longer ones.

Use some compelling quotes. People are drawn to visual dialogue.

Did I mention it helps to ask questions?

You know, writing can be fun for you AND your reader too!

Doesn’t matter whether you are writing a website page, an Instagram post, or a video script. Think about the format, and how it comes across to your reader.

The more inviting and approachable it looks, the better!
